You will not become as fit as you need to be simply by going to practice. Use soccer drills like these on your own time to take your fitness to a new level.   Soccer Drills -- Real Soccer Drills For Improving Fitness  Soccer Drills #1 This drill focuses on starting in different ways: forward, sideways, and backwards. Working on these starts will help you be first to the ball and not get beat in defending situations.   Soccer Drills #2 Here you will focus on different variations of starts. There will be many situations during the game where you will not be starting from a normal position. Focus on getting up as quickly as possible and pushing off hard for the first 3-4 steps.  Soccer Drills #3 Speed endurance is a very important thing to work on and you can develop it using this soccer drill. Sprint at top speed for the full length of the field. Don\'t slow down until you reach the end line.   Soccer Drills #4 In this soccer drill you will focus on turning and acceleration. Focus on staying low, jumping into your turns and really pushing off during the first 3-4 steps of your turn. Practice makes perfect.  Soccer Drills #5 Learning to \"cut\" properly is a very important movement that most soccer players never practice. You should be planting and pushing off with the same leg to make the change of direction as quickly as possible.   Soccer Drills #6 Strength and power are a very important area of your soccer fitness. You can start with basic body weight exercises like the ones demonstrated in this video. It\'s not so much what you are doing, but how you are doing it. Intensity and difficulty are key if you want to become stronger.
