'4-Minute Ab Workout – Follow Along | Yoga Ball Only'

'Do you want abs? Do you want a strong and functional core? Are you looking to build a six-pack that you can wash your laundry on? That last one doesn’t seem practical; it’s much easier to throw your laundry in the machine and press start. But anyway, we’ve got a 4-minute workout right here that will likely leave your core begging for a cookie – don’t give it to them - this defeats the purpose of training.  This quick core circuit will challenge all four core movement patterns – trunk flexion, trunk extension, trunk rotation, and trunk lateral flexion. Many ab programs fail to address one or more of these movement patterns and focus too heavily on just one – trunk flexion. This leads to muscle imbalances, trunk instability, and a less than optimally functioning core. A major roadblock to building a healthy- and good-looking set of abs is focusing on just the abs. If we instead broaden our view and think of the core from a more global perspective, we can build a much healthier, stronger, and better-looking core that will lead to better performance in our lifts and daily lives. Perform 1-2 sets: 1) Reverse Dead Bugs x 1 min Rest 20 secs 2) Yoga Ball Wall Twist x 1.5 min Rest 20 secs 3) Yoga Ball High Plank Knee-to-Elbow x 1 min Rest 1 min between sets    The thumbnail is a fun reminder of the challenge at the end of this video.
