Getting the correct contact in your glutes can be tricky at first but taking the movement slow and controlled and making sure to think about the muscles you are targeting while performing the movement helps a lot. Some of the best glute exercises will recruit other muscle groups as well to perform the exercise, so doing your best to use the two tips I just gave you will help you target and isolate your glutes as much as possible.
